Have you ever wanted to own your very own golf course? A family in Farmersville does... The Leatherwood Ranch Golf Course & Club. The family home doubles as the the Pro Shop with the practice putting green in the front yard. This is a nine-hole course with seven par 4's and two par 3's. The par fours are all very accessible for short hitters with lengths ranging from 212 yards to 334 yards. The course is very lush with beautiful flowering plants. There is a small creek running through the property and several changes in elevation. I absolutely loved this course because it is fun for the novice golfer.

After playing the par 3 first hole for warm-up, Robert & I chose to play the par 4 second hole for record. It is a short par four of only 216 yards, but you are forced to carry the small creek on your drive. I used my new Callaway 7 wood. I drove it over the creek a little right of the fairway. I tried to pitch it on, but I bladed it. The ball though did roll up onto the green. I was able to two putt for a par "4". Please remember this is only a 216 yard hole.

Robert hit his tee shot short and right of the green, about 80 yards from the hole. Using a sand-wedge, Robert nailed his pitch shot to within 10 feet of the hole. He also two putted for his par.

We both fell in love with this fun course and want to come back again when we can play the entire course.
