"God's Country In Central Texas" By: Robert Frazer

Hole # 8

Bosque Valley Golf Club

Meridian, Texas

(254) 435-2692

Par 4, 292 Yards

The Bosque Valley Golf Club in Meridian, Texas is the reason we chose to take "Golf's Ultimate Road Trip." As we pulled up at about 12:30 on Wednesday afternoon, we saw a Dad with his two sons playing golf. We went into the pro shop and met Susan. She treated us like old friends and was so proud of her course. We chose to play the par 4 1st hole which is 292 yards.

Jeff hit a tee shot to the left and was left with about 110 yards to the flag. He hit his second shot short and to the right of the green. Jeff's third shot was a chip that landed on the green, but just trickled off the back edge. He then pitched on and sank a 5 foot putt for a bogey 5.

I hit a straight drive that landed in the fairway (I know what you may be thinking, but it really did happen) abot 90 yards from the cup. I used a pitching wedge that landed on the front edge of the green and stuck. I then 2 putted for a "routine" par 4.

Bosque Valley Golf Club is very well maintained by the manager Phil and his staff. The fairways especially were some of the best we have found on our trip. They were easy to hit off of. GREAT COURSE--- and simply we could not have been treated any nicer!!!
