"Yes, We Do Have Options" By: Robert Frazer

Hole # 17

Country View Golf Club

Lancaster, Texas

(972) 227-0995

Par 5, 468 Yards

Yes we do have other options... After playing the morning round in Corsicana, we needed to chose a club close to Dallas so Berkley could join us for the last stop in Grand Prairie. Nothing in our Cancer Society Golf Pass worked well for a Saturday round, so I suggested a good course in Lancaster- The Country View Golf Club. The weekend green fees very pretty expensive, both we found discount coupons on their website where we could play for only $18.00 including a cart. This course was really worth it.

It was cloudy but a very hot afternoon when we teed off. So far no rain. We all three were playing nicely-especially Austin. Who is able to get his driver off down the fairway- straight and in the air. He has the makings of a very fine player. Jeff and I kept up our momentum from the morning round.

We chose the par 5, 4Th hole for our hole of record. Jeff teed off and went a good distance landing in the right rough. He then used a 3-wood clipping a small tree but going through coming to rest on a fairway mound. Using a 7 iron he chipped up in front of the green. He had an excellent pitch to within 4-5 feet of the flag and sank the putt for a PAR 5. Certainly an improvement from the 8's on some of the other Par 5's.

I then teed off on the par 5 and it drifted into the right rough. I used a 7-wood and landed just short of the green. I pitched on to with-in 7 feet for birdie, but two putted for a par 5.

Country View is a professional style that has actually hosted collegiate golf Tournaments. There is also a lot of water on this course. Many holes have interesting designs and unique landing areas. A good example is the par 4, 7Th hole. Where you hit over water on your tee shot. From the landing area, you must hit over trees and water again to reach the green. This can be an exciting hole, but quite demanding. We all very much enjoyed this course. You will as well. And now on to OUR LAST STOP...
